My family & I were so very blessed to experience Ames Funeral Home's outstanding experience, superb compassion, commendable expertise, and exemplary "Gold Standard Quality" shortly after the unexpected death of our dear father. Ames Funeral Home is a family owned business and you are treated as family when you walk through the door. Ames Funeral Home is a "One Stop Funeral Home" where Mr. Ames & his family calmly, gently, & patiently guide you through the entire funeral process, intrinsically comfort you, & truly share in your sorrow & grief. They speak with you in laymen's terms and they gently guide you through their decades of wisdom, experience that is woven into their souls. The beautiful way they handled providing the necessary instructions & actions to us that we needed to take was beyond anything I had ever encountered in my entire life. Our dad lived a lifetime of service (attending church and helping everyone). When we attended the 1st viewing, we were all astonished! He actually looked his very best & his happiest - dressed as an usher in his church with white gloves, holding his Bible! It was as if the Ames Family personally knew him very well! Our father was also a veteran and Ames Funeral Home was able to quickly arrange an absolutely impeccable military funeral at Quantico National Cemetery. They have handled every aspect of all types of funeral services for several decades. Therefore, all processes are streamlined, which makes you & your family feel supported throughout, without adding additional distress to you when you are grieving. In all honesty, in your darkest journey from the beginning to end, you really feel that they treat you as they would want to be treated in the same situation. Even their website offers comfort & acknowledgement - that they really "see you" in your grief and pain. I have attended several funerals in the past, that were good, but Mr. Ames and his family are light years above the rest.     - Sep 28 2021 Honestly I'm extremely picky and have high expectations when it comes to my loved ones, and they exceeded my expectations! Mr. Malcolm took care of everything and made this hard time an easy transition. He sat with us longer than he should've to answer all of our questions and assist with setting up all of our arrangements. He knows the process and assisted with all the necessary people that needed to be contacted. Mrs. Debra was always kind and proficient with getting the necessary tasks completed. She always kept me informed. I appreciate the work you do and know that you are a major part of the arrangements and paperwork. Thank you so much. Ayana was so kind that her presence alone brightens your spirit. She has a soothing energy that she brings which is important when people are sensitive and I want to thank you for your generosity and compassion. If I could give you 1,000 stars, I would! Ayana also kept me updated with processing paperwork and more. Jamal was such a big help. He was respectful and professional with providing me with the information I needed. He knows all the answers to your questions and gets the information to you promptly. The staff worked extremely well with my children and assisted with comforting them with the loss of their father. I want to especially thank them for tending to my Mother-in-law during this tragic loss of her son. Mr. Ames suggested that I bring my daughters in the same day when we would be coming to check to make sure we were satisfied with their work so that they would see their father without a crowd. Not only was that an excellent suggestion due to the girls response, but we were also satisfied with how great of a job they did. They even accommodated our last minute request to have the wake at their location due to the cancelation of the church where it was supposed to be held. Now that I look back at it, I'm grateful to have held it there instead. They controlled everything and it was very organized, and the flowers are beautiful. Thank you all so much for everything that you have done for my family. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have worked with you all. You are the best! Ames Funeral home has assisted with a few of my family members and each time they have always done an excellent job with their work. I highly recommend making your arrangements with Ames Funeral home.

McLeod, our family had to face burying him during the Pandemic. Thanks to the care provided by Ames Funeral Home, we got through it. We expected the best and we received the best because Ames also provided the services for our beautiful Mother Nellie Heinderman/Hinderman McLeod who passed away several years ago. We were quite impressed with their work in both instances and appreciate the Ames Funeral Home for all that they did for us.
