    - May 29 2023 Denise at Maguire Scala went over and above what I expected. My Mom's funeral was the first I ever had to arrange. Wet behind the ears not knowing what needed to be done; Denise ushered me every step of the way from where to get flowers to what is tradition to Catholic burials to the small nods of the head from her to signal the timing of every move during the funeral and burial. Maguire's door is always open to drop off, pick up what you forgot the day of the funeral. Best of all, my brother and I were able to get our family in Australia to Team in /Zoom in for fathers Leo's final prayer at the funeral home; that meant a lot to everyone in the family. The beautiful throw I received with my mother's obituary picture took my breath away; I still sit on the couch with it every night to read or watch movies!! Thank you Maguire family for making this difficult time in September of 2022 a solemn, yet painless in preparation. I recommend Maguire Scala for anyone who wants a very family oriented, personable, and sensible service.

    - Apr 20 2022 My ninety-one year mom had passed away in Hackettstown Hospital. Denise Maguire, manager, led me through the process with great competence and empathy. Two specific points...she asked me to select and bring pictures of mom during various points in her life and with that composed a video. I reluctantly followed her instruction. She created a special video that our guests at the funeral home couldn't stop watching...we all loved it. Also, my mom looked terrific in the open casket...a first class presentation. Finally, my mom loved my dog Oscar. Denise let me bring him to the viewing where he laid down next to her casket. Overall, thay did an outstanding job. The guests came to me afterwards and said it was special. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.

    Jan 12 2021 We looked at four funeral homes in planning my husband's funeral and found Maguire-Scala to be very cost conscious, professional and interpersonal. It gave us a feeling of confidence that all elements of the funeral would be handled with care and humanity. The building was decorated beautifully for Christmas which gave us a feeling of serenity. They were extremely patient with us while waiting for us to deliver pictures and music for the video presentation. It was comforting to have the concern and warmth of the people handling a loved ones funeral.

    Sep 05 2020 The Maguire family went above and beyond our expectations and I can not recommend their services enough. My mother was the beacon of light and the glue that held our family together. While we were aware that death was a possibility, we were mentally and physically unprepared when it occurred. Although I had attended many funerals, the passing of my mother was my first experience in planning one. From start to finish, the Macguire family handled everything with thought, consideration, and care. They were patient with us in making decisions, mindful of costs, and added the little touches to make the services even more special. While I certainly was appreciative and grateful at the time, it wasn't until I went to a viewing recently at an alternative funeral home that I realized how fortunate we were to have selected Macguire-Scala. They made (what I am sure will be) the most difficult time of my life less painful and truly something special.

They were very compassionate and went above and beyond any services I have been too. Besides their beautiful facilities thy only preform one service at a time which allows them to focus on your loved one and the family. I cannot thank them enough for the care they given us.
