Patricia Brown

Pat is a licensed attorney in Texas with a practice focused on transactional, estate, and elder law and mediation and an executive/part-owner in Ashford Technical Software, Inc. (a small technology firm located in Friendswood Texas). When she left The University of Texas with a Mathematics degree, Pat began working with computers.Pat worked on all software contracts that fell within her areas of responsibility and worked closely with in-house and third-party attorneys on asset sales and mergers and acquisitions. At the close of her IT career, Pat was managing the IT operations for all gas pipelines and gas storage facilities in the United States at TransCanada, an international energy company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Nine years before she retired from her IT career, Pat began to prepare for a second career. She graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and became a licensed attorney in the State of Texas. When she retired from IT, Pattook further training as a mediator and opened a private law firm. Through her law firm, Pat provides transactional legal services to small businesses helping them with project proposals, Master Service Agreements, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements, service level agreements, and other contract issues as needed.She provides pro bono legal services for Lone Star Legal Aid and Houston Volunteer Lawyers in Family Law and Wills and Trusts Law, provides pro bono mediation services for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center, andtakes on individual pro bono work. Recently, Pat took on an active role in Ashford Technical Software, Inc. as Vice-President of Account Management. In this role she coordinates all accounting, financial and tax activities and oversees Ashford’s relationships with their clients with a focus on delivering quality service and clear and timely communication.
